Dincolo de Centru - Jurnalul unei Societăți

The documentary “Dincolo de centru. Jurnalul unei societăți”(Beyond the center. The Journal of a Society) is a foray into the social and urban history of the twentieth-century Bucharest. The 10 short episodes investigate life on the outskirts of Bucharest and the modernisation attempts by building standard housing for the working class, in small districts, better known as “parcelări.”

Each episode recomposes the history of one of those areas, based on the collective memory of the residents and also on a highly documented architectural and urban analysis. 

A sad trip down memory lane, but totally worth it!
